Saturday Quack – Akavar for Weight Loss

You’ve seen the ads – or you soon will. Akavar is the new diet pill that makes some extravagant claims: “Eat all you want and still lose weight.” “Exercise is not necessary to achieve weight loss.” “Fast-acting caloric restricting compound.”

In a review on DietsInReview.com some of the deficiencies are listed:

- No FDA approval

- Web site offers very little information

- No published clinical research

- Contains caffeine

In fact, the ingredients include many caffeine sources (including Xanthine and Green Tea Leaf), Yerba Mate, Guarana Seed, Ginger Root, Kola Nut, Tibetan Ginseng, Cocoa Nut, Rice Flour, Yellow No. 6, Red No. 3 and Gelatin. It seems that this is a herbal concoction without published evidence of effectiveness. Maybe you should save your $$$ for a good fitness coach and gym membership.

I have a friend who tried Akavar and it worked great for her. She said she didn't have to eat as much and wasn't hungry as much. There is a lot of caffeine though so I wouldn't take it for longer than 4 months. Here are the ingredients http://www.akavarstore.com/akavar2050-weight-loss-diet-pill3.php. I haven't needed to try it yet but she has lost 15 or so pounds. It worked for her. Good luck if you try it.
